UUM ONLINE: Terengganu - Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) berjaya merangkul 13 pingat pada Persidangan dan Ekspo Ciptaan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Antarabangsa (Pecipta) 2017 yang berakhir, semalam.
UUM telah meraih dua (2) pingat emas, empat (4) pingat perak dan tujuh (7) pingat gangsa menerusi produk yang dihasilkan penyelidik universiti.
Program dwitahunan yang berlangsung selama tiga hari mulai 7 Oktober lalu di Stadium Tertutup, Gong Badak itu disertai 40 buah institusi pengajian tinggi awam dan swasta, tujuh Politeknik dan dua buah Kolej Komuniti seluruh negara. Sebanyak 89 pingat emas, 96 pingat perak dan 183 pingat gangsa telah dianugerahkan kepada penyelidik di samping anugerah khas kepada 12 produk daripada 416 produk inovasi yang diketengahkan kali ini.
Dengan tema Nurturing Entrpreneurs through Education, Industry, Technology and Social Innovation, Pecipta 2017 anjuran Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (KPT) dengan kerjasama Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) telah dirasmikan Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi, Dato' Seri Idris Jusoh.
A half-day workshop on the Gamification and Digital Content Advisory: Transforming Your Ideas was successfully held on 19 September 2017 at the meeting room CETMA UUM. This workshop was being attend by 7 participants from UUM staff.
This workshop was organized by the Innovation and Comercialization Centre (ICC). The program started with a brifieng session by the chaiman of ATS Venture Sdn. Bhd. Dr. Shahrul Azmi Mohd. Yusof which is one of the start-up company that actively involved in developing a gaming system in UUM. Dr Sharul gave speech about the potential of gamification and the related industries. The session then continued with knowledge sharing and brainstorming of ideas among facilitators and participants. The facilitators involved in this workshop were Dr. Shahrul Azmi Mohd. Yusof, Dr. Amran Ahmad and Badrul Hisham.
The intention of this workshop is to generate ideas among participants, while facilitating them on the avenues to produce relevant products using attractive tools for gamification with creative digital content.
The workshop continued with demonstration by Dr Sharul about one of the game that have been develop which is UUM Venture to the participant. This game is focus to train the student about biding a project in real world situation by using game mechanical. Then it was continued by Badrul Hisham, one of developer in ATS Venture Sdn. Bhd. to show how his M Sepak Takraw game been develop.
This workshop can be considered a success since there are interest to collaborating further from the participants. It is hoped that this workshop is a starting point for a more conducive platform for reseachers, experts and students working as a team to produce more attractive and industrial tailored creative products,which is aimed to generate income for the university directly or indirectly.
A Seminar on Living Lab@Sintok-Changlun was successfully held on 5th February 2017 at the Seminar Hall, School of Computing (SOC) and attracted more than 40 participants from UUM?s academic staff and students. This seminar was organized by the Innovation and Commercialisation Centre (ICC) with the aim to provide awareness to UUM?s researchers and students about the Living Lab concept. It acts as a platform for knowledge sharing about Living Lab projects being implemented and their outputs.
